“I’m sure I have that document somewhere!”

“Which is the latest version?”

“Can I have the logo in this size and format?”

Sound familiar? We have become so used to facing the issue of trying to hunt down assets, the latest version and certain file types of the same asset amongst folders and folders within drives upon drives. The time has come to step into the world that mitigates the risk of incorrect or old assets being shared both internally and externally, the world where your Marketing and Design departments are no longer asked where the company logos are stored. Hello, Digital Asset Management (DAM).

With consumers digesting more content than ever before, across a multitude of platforms, on various devices and in different formats, the expectation for this content to be personalised is rising. So as the number of customer journeys grows and the complexity of them only increases, we face the challenge of how to truly understand the analytics, successes and areas requiring change across so many customer touchpoints.

DAM systems aren’t new, since the 1980s we have been using file transfers (FTPs), local storage, organisation shared drives, cloud storage and sharing platforms. However, as we are still facing ongoing issues with finding and sharing assets with ease, these systems appear to be unable to keep up with the momentum of customer demand, resulting in wasted time, resources and ultimately risking business profits. Modern DAMs are meant for more than just file storage. To keep up with customer expectations, DAMs must provide a scalable solution that empowers marketers and designers to create flexible, personalized and dynamic content.

Digital Asset Management isn’t strictly within the marketing world but is important for anyone and everyone dealing with assets, which includes documents, logos, one-pagers, presentations, photos, product imagery, templates or brand guides, the list goes on. Whatever your sector, industry or even department, we have all experienced the struggle of locating assets in a labyrinth of folders, files and drives. Both the number of marketing channels and the volume of assets needed to support these channels have multiplied. DAM is about having one central home for everything, easily accessible and simple to navigate so you can quickly locate exactly what you need.

ANALYTICS

Ever sent out a press release or webinar recording to your clients and prospects but you lose analytics beyond the number of link clicks measured on your email platform? A DAM system such as Brandfolder ensures the tracking continues to show you insights of asset views, downloads, and shares. Meaning that you have stats for the full marketing cycle and understand that the assets and material you are producing are having the intended impact. This applies internally too, monitoring asset usage within the company, who is using what and what isn’t being used/needs updating to enable your staff to accurately use their time and resource in the best way.

IT'S NOT ALL INTERNAL

The brilliance of Brandfolder is that the platform is not limited to internal use. The ability to create secure collections that can be shared with an external audience pool means you can dynamically share assets and information in real-time for your chosen audience. They can access this selection of assets whenever and wherever without items being lost in long strings of email chains. Whilst also being able to share individual or a selection of assets via a share link and apply an expiry date allowing you to monitor and restrict asset usage to a specific timeframe.

DAM platforms are no longer just about file storage. They’ve evolved into robust platforms that support the entire marketing lifecycle and helps teams deliver on the personalized, high-quality content that consumers crave. By enhancing marketing processes like asset creation, team collaboration and integration with other creative tools, modern DAMs enable marketers and teams to do their jobs better. To put it

simply, DAMs are the strategic foundation of modern brand experiences that are

required for brands to succeed today.
